Sustainable Growth assisted Albany Riverfront Collaborative with formative organizational and fund development professional services. Albany Riverfront Collaborative helped advocate for and secure significant funding for a study to reimagine the Interstate 787 Corridor in downtown Albany, the core of the "Reimagine Albany" initiative. Over $5 million, secured by Senator (then Assemblymember) Pat Fahy, was allocated to study the reimagining of Interstate 787 to improve waterfront access, reconnect neighborhoods, and improve multi-modal transportation and mixed-use development. Sustainable Growth also assisted with grant writing for the Community Connectors Program - Together We Can: Repairing the Damage of Interstate 787, with $130,000 in funding from Smart Growth America (smartgrowthamerica.org), September 13, 2023.

Up to $40 million provided by Governor Hochul in the fiscal year 2026 state budget as part of a larger investment to revitalize downtown Albany, which includes reimagining the I-787 waterfront.
The Collaborative's work is centered on transforming Albany's waterfront by addressing the I-787 highway and connecting the city to the Hudson River. Learn more about the project here: https://www.albanyriverfrontcollaborative.com/
